What is this tool?
Vocabulary Sudoku keeps the familiar rule that each item appears once in every row, column, and box, but replaces numbers with words or icons. It is best for reviewing terms students have already met.
How to use it
- Choose nine visually distinct terms students already recognize.
- Use icons or short definitions for support, then remove those supports as students become fluent.
- Model one smaller section before students work independently or with a partner.
Classroom example: geometry review station
Use nine shape names with simple icons. After solving, students circle three terms and write one accurate property for each. The logic puzzle ends with evidence of subject understanding.
